More Than 150 RGV Business Owners Registered for Free AI Training in McAllen

More than 150 Rio Grande Valley business owners registered for a free AI masterclass held Saturday, July 18, at the McAllen Public Library. Sixty attended in person for two hours of live training followed by an hour of networking, built around one question: what can AI actually do for a small business today.

The event, AI That Works, was presented by Evermore Digital in partnership with the RGV Women's Chamber of Commerce. It was free and open to any business owner in the region.

The Valley has no shortage of capable owners. What it has less of is access. Business owners here often compete without the tools, systems, and strategic support that larger markets treat as standard, and AI is widening that distance quickly rather than closing it. Most local owners are running lean, handling their own marketing, their own client communication, and their own follow-up. They know AI matters. What they have been missing is someone to show them where it fits in the specific business they are already running.

The morning was built to answer that. Rather than theory or a sales pitch, attendees watched the major AI platforms run the same task side by side, so they could see for themselves what each one does and which fits how they actually work. Tools were demonstrated live on the everyday work of content, client communication, and operations. Attendees left with one specific action to take rather than a list of things to research later.

A centerpiece of the session was the Hidden Profits Framework, a method for spotting the five places most small businesses quietly lose time and money, along with the specific AI fix for each one.

"This was definitely worth my Saturday morning. If you are wondering if you need AI, or if you need more ideas on how to use AI, this is exactly what you need," said David Menchaca, Multimedia Specialist at Advanced Business Applications.

"Most small businesses are losing time and money in places they stopped noticing. I did not want people to leave with a list of tools. I wanted them to leave knowing exactly where their business is leaking, and the one move they can make Monday to fix it," said Cassandra Aguillon, founder of Evermore Digital.
